Harpsicle® Harp Stick
The Harpsicle® Harp Stick makes it more comfortable to hold your Harpsicle® Harp on your lap while playing. The Stick is solid wood and is quick and easy to install and to remove.
As with all lap harps, some folks find it difficult to keep them balanced in their laps. The Harpsicle® Harp Stick, Strap, and Adjustable Stand are all accessories that make holding your harp easy and relaxing. The Harpsicle® Harp Stick easily clamps to the inside of the lower access hole on the back of the harp, adding a horizontal bar that rests across your thighs. It will also work on most other lap harps. Available in natural wood.
If you order a Special Edition Fullsicle™ Harp and you also wish to order a Stick, you may select either cherry or walnut to match your SE. (Available exclusively to SE owners.)
Harpsicle® Harp Display Stand
This solid wood Harpsicle® Harp Display Stand is the perfect way to stand your Harpsicle® lap harp while you are not playing. Some folks even use the Display Stand when small children are learning to play. The stand locks your harp into place to keep it safely upright. Minor assembly is required but we really do mean “minor” so no fear! This stand fits the Harpsicle®, Sharpsicle™, Flatsicle™, Fullsicle™ and Special Edition Fullsicle™ harps.
Harpsicle® Harp Method Book with On-Line Video
Learn to play the harp and start having fun! Our in-house harp teacher (now retired) created this book and companion on-line video to walk you through all the basics for the Harpsicle® brand Harp. You do not need to know anything about the harp or even about music to get started.
You will learn:
Simple Harp Technique
Parts of the harp
How to hold the harp
Basics in playing music including chords, arpeggios, placing & bracketing
How to tune the harp
How to change a broken string and more
The Snark Super Tight Chromatic Tuner is an essential accessory for your harp. In fact, we recommend that if you plan to gig with this harp you have an extra one that you keep in your harp bag just so you never get caught without one.
A chromatic tuner makes it easy for anyone, even the most basic beginners, to tune a harp. Over the years we have tried so, so many tuners but we keep coming back to the Snark. It clips easily onto Harpsicle® brand harps and detects both high and low strings equally well. Simply clip the tuner to any part of the harp to pick up vibrations. We prefer clipping the tuner to the arch of the harp. You can also clip the tuner to one of the tuning pins. The back-lit display will indicate what note the string is playing and whether or not the not the note is sharp or flat. This clip tuner provides very accurate readings as it picks up the instruments vibrations rather than relying on a microphone like other tuners. This also allows you to tune your harp Independent of background noise. We use these tuners everyday here at Rees Harps Inc..
Snark Tuner Features:
Clip-on chromatic tuner that attaches directly to your harp with padded “feet” for cable-free tuning
Double ball-joint allows multi-angle positioning with far greater mobility for the display section
Internal backlight ensures excellent visibility
Extra Battery for Chromatic Tuner
Sometimes finding the right replacement battery for your Snark chromatic tuner can be annoying. We have them if you need them.
All Harpsicle® brand Harps, except the Brilliant!™, come with guitar strap buttons installed at the shoulder and low on the front of the column. Simply attach each end of the strap to the buttons. Put your left arm and head through the harp strap loop making sure that the strap crosses over your right shoulder, across your back, and under your left arm. You will want to adjust the length of the strap and situate the harp so that it rest comfortably against your body. Depending on your body type this position may vary a little for each person. Play around with the positioning and do what feels the most comfortable to you as long as your head stays on the left side of the harp.
Harp Strap - Black
Strap your harp on to play sitting, standing or moving. This black strap is made of durable, fade resistant nylon.
Deluxe Harp Straps
[Note: to see our large selection of Deluxe Harp Straps, click on "Quick View". Then, click on each of the small strap thumbnail photos to see a larger version of that strap.]
The Deluxe Harp Straps are made in Chicago by Soldier Strap Company. Strap your harp on to play while sitting, standing, or moving. The underside of the strap is especially soft and is less abrasive on the finish of your harp as are both of the soft real leather ends.
911-HARP Kit - Harp Care Basics
Because Murphy’s Law is real, every harper should be prepared for the day when something goes wrong. For instance:
a child throws an egg salad sandwich at the soundboard of your harp (this really happened to us!)
a string breaks 15 minutes before the concert you have ben practicing for for the last six months
wind blows your harp over an hour before a wedding gig and one of your sharping levers is damaged
one day a string begins to buzz against a lever totally out of the blue
a mocha latte and your harp suddenly become intimately involved
…In short, life happens and advance preparation makes all the difference. The Rees 911-HARP Kit is your insurance against Murphy. Each Kit is tailored to the model of your harp. For those with the basic Harpsicle® Harp, the 911-HARP Kit will not include lever regulation supplies but for all other models your Kit will be outfitted to support the Rees levers on your harp. Those with Sharpsicles™, Flatsicles™ or Fullsicles™ all have the same Kit type BUT, if you have the upgraded bass strings on your Sharpsicle™, Flatsicle™ or Fullsicle™, go ahead and order the SE Kit.
The basic 911-HARP Kit includes:
a complete extra set of strings
a retractable duster to clean between pins & strings on the arch
a bottle of Harpo “No More Marks” Cleaning Spray
a micro fiber towel to use for cleaning

Harp Cleaning Kit
A clean harp is a happy harp! Our Harp Cleaning Kit includes a bottle of specialized cleaning spray and a micro fiber towel. Harpo "No More Marks" Cleaning Spray is the first cleaning product exclusively developed for and tested on harps. It gently cleans and removes oil and grime build-up and has a soothing lavender scent. Harpo Harp Cleaning Spray was developed by John Clarke, an industrial chemist with more than 45 years experience, for his wife, professional harpist, Carol Thompson.
Cleaning spray directions:
First try the product on a small, inconspicuous area on your harp or other wooden instrument. (If you have a Rees Concert Line Harp or a Rees Harpsicle® brand Harp, we have already tested the spray on our finishes so you can just go ahead to the next step.) Spray onto the cloth provided. Do not spray directly onto the harp. Rub scratches using a gentle, circular motion. Do not scrub hard. After cleaning, apply a good quality furniture polish. We recommend Pledge Lemon Enhancing Polish.*
Harpo Harp Cleaning Spray is biodegradable and non-toxic.
*Our recommendation of Pledge Lemon Enhancing Polish is not random. A number of years ago Fine Woodworking magazine conducted a review of various furniture polishes and carnauba wax polish. They determined that if you have the time, carnauba wax is always the best but it is very difficult to apply. The surprise is that after carnauba and well above everything else on the list was Pledge Enhancing Polish (which, at that time, was called “Lemon Pledge with Real Wax”). Amazingly, Pledge actually does what the advertising says it does. It picks up dirt and oil and leaves behind a thin layer of wax which, unlike carnauba, does not cloud.
For harpers, the advantage of Pledge is that trying to get carnauba wax in between all the hardware on the arch and then to get it buffed is virtually impossible but doing the same with Pledge is vastly easier. As always with any cleaner or polish, apply Pledge to a cleaning cloth and then use the cloth to apply a thin layer of polish to your harp.
Extra Tuning Wrench
This wrench fits all Harpsicle® brand Harps
All Harpsicle® Harps come with a tuning wrench but just in case you loose one it's always good to have an extra wrench available. We all know how socks can mysteriously go missing in the laundry, well tuning wrenches are also very susceptible to being sucked into the land of misplaced things. Be prepared, keep an extra handy (and, perhaps, tied down to prevent escape.)
